The end of a very busy day! There were some very tired children in assembly at 3 O’Clock today! I am delighted at how well all the children have settled in their new classes and how hard they have worked today. I would like to say a big welcome to our new members of staff Miss Sloan in Year 1, Miss Parkinson in Year 2 and Miss Lewis-Brown in Year 3 – welcome to Green Park we know you will be very happy and love our school as much as we do.
To all parents- thank you for ensuring the children looked so smart to day in their uniforms. Children I will see you all bright and early tomorrow.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend, I must admit it was lovely to get the extra lie in !
In my last email I mentioned the school football team taking part in the local league final. The boys played really well on what was a cold and wet afternoon and managed to secure third place. A big thank you to all the players and Allan the coach.
Our Year 5 mathematicians took place in an inter school maths quiz on Thursday 24th May organised by Deyes High School. They worked fantastically well as a team and were placed in the top three – well done!!
Year 5 will be heading out in the next few weeks to spend a day at the Forest School in Croxteth Park. The day sounds like it will be great fun including cooking lunch on a camp fire.
Plans are moving forward for the WW1 celebrations on Southport Beach on July 4th. Year 5 and 6 will be attending and attempting with other schools across Sefton to make the largest human Remembrance Poppy on the beach. If they succeed they will be entering the Guinness World Record. Let’s hope we do it – we need more than 2250 people!
Good luck to all our Year 6 pupils who will be sitting their Key Stage 2 tests next week.
Can I remind you that school will be closed to the children on Thursday 22nd of May for the European Elections and will re-open on Friday 23rd finishing at 3.30pm for half term.

Well done to the school swimming team who took part in an inter school gala last Friday. All the children swam their best and it was a great team effort. Thanks to Mrs Burns for coaching the team and Alan for driving them to and from the baths and of course the loyal parent supporters.
A big thank to the children and Mums and Dads who attended the Maghull Christmas Tree Light Up. The weather wasn’t kind so thank you for attending and singing so well I was sorry I missed it.

Dear children and parents,
We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow (Wednesday 4th September). We hope you have all enjoyed a restful holiday and are ready for the start of the new term.
Important information regarding school meals.
Unfortunately the work on the refurbishment of the kitchen has been delayed and is due to start within the next two weeks. As such we have no facilities to cook or serve hot meals. Could we ask that ALL children bring a packed lunch this Wednesday only. We will inform you by letter of arrangements for the duration of the works. Children in receipt of free school meals will be able to order a packed lunch which will be delivered from Lydiate Primary from Thursday this week. Should parents which to continue to pay for school meals they can however the only available meal will be a packed lunch which includes cold snacks such as baguettes and sandwiches, a drink, a piece of fruit and a cake/biscuit. The charge for a packed lunch will be £8.75 per week.
Further details will be supplied to you by letter tomorrow including how to order your lunches.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
see you all tomorrow bright and early ready for hard work!!!!
Thank you for all your support in ensuring we had a fantastic summer fair. Money is still be counted but I am sure we will have raised a healthy sum. It was so lovely to see so many families having a good time in the glorious weather. I would like to say a special thank you to the parents who helped on stalls and with the setting up, never under estimate the amount of work needed to put on an event like the summer fair – thank you.
I hope to see you at sports day this afternoon.
